The 14th Bangladesh Physics Olympiad Chattogram Regional Round, hosted by Presidency International School was inaugurated on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at the Middle School premises aiming to celebrate academic excellence, inspire future STEM leaders and contribute to the nation’s scientific progress.

Presided over by Dr. Imam Hasan Reza, Rector, Presidency Education, the programme was graced by distinguished Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Dept. of CSE, BRAC University, Professor (Ex), CSE, BUET as the chief guest in presence of Mr. Ashraful Haque Khan Swapan, Chairman, School Academic Management, Mr. Md. Gulzar Alam Alamgir, Member Secretary, revered professors of Chittagong University, CUET, teachers, visitors and guardians.

The chief guest emphasised on the crucial role of investing in education and science Olympiads in building a globally competent nation. He praised Presidency’s efforts in planning the event flawlessly, describing it as a pivotal contribution to the nation’s development. A thought-provoking question-answer session with the chief guest in the illustrious presence of prominent business personality Alhaj Sufi Mizanur Rahman, PHP Group, allowed inquisitive young minds to engage in discussions and deepen their understanding of scientific concepts.

Nearly 1,000 students competed in four groups based on their academic levels: Group A-Class V & VI, Group-B Class VII & VIII, Group-C Class IX & X, and Group-D Class XI & XII. The winners of each group were honoured with prizes, recognising their outstanding achievements and fostering a spirit of healthy competition.
